How to install realtek hd audio manager windows 10 upgrading to windows 10?

by michael bedwell Digital Marketer

I recently upgraded to windows 10 and had no problems with the upgrade, but now i can't seem to get my realtek hd audio manager to work.

I downloaded it from the realtek site and installed it but every time I go into sound or playback devices everything is grayed out so that i can't select it. Anyone know how to fix this?

The Realtek HD Audio Manager is a software application made by Realtek, and it can be used as an alternative audio control panel for several Realtek onboard audio chips. Usually the program prevents you from opening other such audio control panels because it's just so good! However, if you upgraded your computer to Windows 10 and can't seem to get it to work, this article will show you how to download and install the software correctly.

First of all, you need to download the latest version of the Realtek HD Audio Manager. To do that follow this link: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/ (or go there directly by using this link: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false). At the top of the page click on 'Audio怸'Realtek HD Audio Manager'.

The file you need is in the 'downloads for notebook' section, but don't worry if it doesn't say that in the title! If you cannot find the right download, just look at the product ID under 'downloads for desktop PC' or 'downloads for motherboard'. You need to be sure you are downloading the right file, so check what version of windows 10 you have installed. If you have the 64-bit version it is better to download this one: http://download.realtek.com/pub/s software/update/softwareupdate/R el698x_Win10_VER6017020.zip (or the 32-bit version: http://download.realtek.com/pub/software/update/softwareupdate/R el698x_Win10_VER6016845.zip). If you have a different version of Windows 10 then the one you downloaded, just search for your product ID on that page and download the file that is associated with it.

Once you have downloaded the file, make sure to extract the contents of the ZIP folder. Inside you will find a README file which will contain instructions on how to install Realtek HD Audio Manager for Windows 10. Follow these instructions carefully and enjoy your new audio control panel!
