How to handle workplace conflicts?

by Kiran Taj Khan Researcher

An ideal workplace is the one in which we enjoy cordial relations with all our colleagues and there is no conflict in the workplace. But unfortunately that’s purely the best case scenario and is observed rarely. There would be a fragment of your colleagues which will really annoy you to the last bearable point. They may get inside your skin and forced you to get into worst of your behavior. Such a situation will not only affect your image but only falls badly on your performance. Involvement in any personal conflict at workplace can be reverting wisely by mutual cooperation. No one can admire everyone at job, all you need to do is to get along with everyone and remain at the best of your behavior.

Try to create a productive work environment.

Usually people prefer such jobs in Pakistan, which offer an energetic workplace where everyone is devoted to their work and don’t drag themselves in any sort of work politics. There is still a likelihood of any personal conflict emerges between employees but that can be handled if their dedication is completely towards their work. Usually everyone tries to avoid any kind of conflict in an atmosphere full of good vibes where employer also works as a part of team and any divergence can bring down the team spirit and the overall energy.

When hiring manager hires any employer for a job in Pakistan, it considers their ability to work as a team member, but sometimes they also get deceived. As during interviews everyone tries to show best of their etiquette. But we need to be aware of the personalities with time. If we understood each other’s personalities at least to the minimum then we can make peace with each other.

Getting along with each other is the key aim. Usually at the start of anyone’s career ,they tried to get along with each other and try to fit in the team , but with time equations changes and people changes their attitude towards one others, these changed equations turned some in to mentors and friends and few into competitors or rivals. But no matter what your status is, try to be polite and talk respectfully. If any of the employees does not understand your point of view, try to get your manager involved and let him intervene for the best the best interest of the company.

Workplace conflicts can be handled if we do not lose focus at work and concentrate on better things then jealousies and unfair competition.
