A question I get a lot from people is, do both of these carpet products cause bed bugs to crawl on them? As an exterminator, I have to tell you that they may be able to co-exist. While it's not impossible, it's not likely either. Let's look at the characteristics of the two.

Gold and Navy Rug

You see, while a bed bug may not be able to stand on a carpet, they can do so with ease on a rug. They will use their legs for balance. They are pretty small, so they can easily squeeze their way through. This means that if your area of the mattress has a lot of rugs that have been pulled up, they may be nearby. If your bed bugs have rolled up into a ball and laid there for a few days, they may have picked up some of the scents of the carpet and got into your mattress.

So, while it's possible that the smell is a result of the bed bug, there may actually be another issue that's causing the problem. The problem may lie in the carpet itself. If you take a quick sniff and then consider how the carpet has been treated in the last year, you may notice that it's been treated with a particular chemical called Boric acid.

If you look at the label on the bag of Boric acid and you see the active ingredient, there are a few things you need to think about. Are there other chemicals that have been used with the Boric acid to kill bedbugs? Have humans worn or handled the carpet in the last year? These are all things to consider. If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you may want to consider an alternative solution to killing the bug without introducing a new chemical.

It's hard to say for sure what is causing the bedbugs to infest your Gold and Navy Rugs. It's also hard to say for sure how to get rid of the bugs that have already invaded your rugs. However, there are some steps you can take to minimize the chances that you'll have to deal with bed bugs on your own. Following these steps may be able to prevent the problem in the first place.

First off, you should never bring a bug-infested rug into your home. It's best to keep these rugs in storage. Even if a family member or friend has a serious bug problem, it's not a good idea to expose yourself or others to the germs that may be in the carpets. You also need to be aware of where the Black Rugs are stored. If you plan on putting them in a room where you and your family sleep, you need to make sure they're kept in a dark, dry area. Leave them out in the hallway outside your home as well.

Another thing that you should do to minimize the chances that you'll be bringing home an infested rug is to be wary of bait piles that look suspiciously like a food source. It may look like a pile of brown rice or dry dog food, but the bugs in these piles have been feeding on the same ingredients for quite some time. Since the smells from the rugs have been long established, they may not be as picky as you think. Still, you should check these piles every few days to make sure there aren't any live bugs.

Some people use mothballs without success. While it's true that these baits can keep the bugs away, they may also attract other pests as well. So, if you choose to use these baits, you should plan on keeping the pile moist. You can do this by placing a damp newspaper or rugs over the pile to keep it moist until you get rid of the bug. If you don't want to deal with these baits, simply wash any paper towels or rugs you used in an attempt to get rid of the bug in question.
