The first solution is to remove third-party outlook add-ins. Outlook search issues can occur due to the third-party add-in creating conflict with indexing. The answer is to remove or disable any third-party add-in installed for your Outlook account.

       Choose options from the menu

Select the Add-ins tab from the left panel

Go to the bottom and click on the drop-down menu for Manage

Select COM add-ins and then click Go

Select recently installed Add-in options and click on Remove

Next, relaunch Outlook and check if the Outlook search something went wrong error resolves

If it doesn’t resolve, remove all the add-ins one by one till you find the problematic add-ins

If your problem does not resolve, please follow the next solution.

This solution particularly applies if Outlook indexing slow problem occurs. You can resolve this issue by rebuilding indexing.

Press Windows and R keys together to launch the Run dialog box

Insert Control in its textbox and click on OK

Look for Index in your control panel

Click on Indexing Options followed by clicking the Advanced button

Click on the Rebuild button that you can find under the Troubleshooting section
