How to Fix Sound Problems in Your Windows 10?

Are you facing any audio issue on your Windows 10 device? The reason behind this can be third-party software or else there might be an issue within the Windows 10 itself. The issue can also be because of a fault in the hardware.

Use the audio troubleshooter
  1. Firstly, go to the search bar on the taskbar.
  2. Then, enter “audio troubleshooter.”
  3. After that, choose Fix and find problems with playing sound.
  4. Then, press on Next.
  5. After that, choose the device that you wish to fix.
  6. Next, carry on with the troubleshooting process.
Check that Windows Updates are installed
  1. Firstly, press on the Start button.
  2. Then, press on Settings.
  3. After that, click on Update and Security.
  4. Next, tap on Windows Update.
  5. Then, press on Check for updates.
  6. Choose one of the given options:
  7. If the status states ‘You are up to date’, then visit the next suggestion.
  8. If the status states ‘Updates are available’, then choose ‘Install now’ option.
  9. Choose the updates you wish installing.
  10. Next, choose Install.
  11. Lastly, restart your device.
Look on sound settings
  1. Firstly, do a right-click on the Speakers symbol. It will be located on the taskbar.
  2. After that, choose Open Volume Mixer.
  3. Next, you shall be able to view many volume controls for your device. Ensure that not even a single one of it is muted. Note that if any of them is muted, then you will receive a red circle with a line. It will be placed after the volume control option. In such a situation, choose volume control for unmuting.
  4. See the device properties for ensuring that the devices have not been turned off mistakenly. 
  5. Firstly, press on Start.
  6. Then, click on Settings.
  7. After that, tap on System.
  8. Lastly, tap on sound.
  9. Then, choose the audio device.
  10. After that, choose Device properties. Ensure that you choose Device properties for the output as well as input devices.
  11. Lastly, ensure that the square box after the output and input devices is clear.
Troubleshoot the audio drivers
  1. Firstly, go to the search bar on the taskbar.
  2. Then, write the device manager.
  3. After that, choose it from the given options.
  4. Next, choose the arrow after Sound, video and game controllers for expanding.
  5. After that, do a right-click on the options for the sound card or audio device.
