This article will show you how to set up a Gmail account on your iPhone using IMAP protocols. This is the Gmail IMAP setting you must edit for a Gmail account.

Gmail IMAP Setting

IMAP Host	imap.gmail.com
IMAP Port	993
Encryption	SSL
IMAP User name	Your Gmail username
IMAP Password	Your Gmail password

Follow these 8 steps to get Gmail on your iPhone using the Gmail IMAP server settings:

Enable IMAP for Gmail (Settings>>Forwarding and IMAP/POP>> IMAP Access >>Enable IMAP)
On the iPhone home screen, open Settings.
Go to Passwords & Accounts > Add Account, then choose Google.

Note: If you are using an older version of Mail. You can choose Mail >Contacts > Calendars, then Select to Add Account > Google Mail.

Please enter your Gmail address, then tap Next.
Click Next, then enter your Gmail password.
When prompted for two-step verification, follow the directions on the screen. Your Gmail account will only show this if 2-step authentication is enabled.
Enable the Mail toggle switch to ensure that you can access your email. Other items, such as contact information, calendar events, and notes, can also be synced.
You can exit the home screen by pressing the home button.
