Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park

Covering an area of about 2.77 acres, Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park’s most stand out architectural feature is the 64 feet high fountain. This remarkable fountain is stunning in all its grandeur. Built to resemble a horseshoe of running water, the sculptural fountain makes for a gorgeous background for clicking pictures. The cascading water looks surreal and one can only thank man for creating such wonders. So, if Bellagio Fountain is the sole reason you’ve been wanting to book a flight to Las Vegas, you can give Houston a chance this time.

Glenwood Cemetery

Situated one mile west of downtown Houston, Glenwood Cemetery is a place of respite from all the city fun. Exhibiting the designs of the 19th century rural cemetery parks, Glenwood Cemetery has an admirable landscape with towering trees completing the scenery. The statues and monuments dotting the cemetery are a reminder of the city’s rich history and the influential people who shaped it.  The cemetery is the resting place for mayors, governors, religious leaders and others who have played a significant role in the development of Houston.

Port Houston Boat Tour

There is something truly magical about being among the waves. And if you are fascinated by it too, then you have to take the boat tour when in Houston. Port Houston Authority has been operating free 90 minutes boat rides since 1958 through the Houston Ship Channel. Once on the boat, which is 95 feet long and can accommodate about 100 passengers, you are all set for a good time sailing through the water. Though the boat tour is free, you’ve got to make reservations for it in advance. But, before that, book a flight to Houston.
