How to drink without getting drunk

Being a gentleman requires a lot of things – a nice fashion sense, good manners, and neat appearance; however, visiting best barbers in NYC and boutiques in Manhattan is not enough. You should also know how to socialise. Unfortunately, a lot of social events involve drinking, and there is no excuse for being ungracefully drunk if you are a modern gentleman. For this very reason, we have prepared some tips and tricks on how to drink without getting drunk!

#1. Know your limits

In this case, the sky is not the only limit. Knowing how much alcohol you can safely consume will make it easier for you to stay sober. You can also try to take only the needed amount of money to prevent yourself from buying more drinks throughout the night.

#2. Less is more

Even if you can down shots after shots of liquor, we suggest you settle for one or two drinks instead. Small quantities can make you buzzed just as effectively. Order no more than one drink per hour. It doesn’t matter whether you are drinking wine or whisky.

#3. Have a meal

Make sure to have a meal before drinking alcohol. The nutritious, fatty food is your best bet if you want to be able to prevent yourself from getting excessively drunk. Alcohol and empty stomach don’t go very well together.

#4. Hydrating

If you want to avoid getting too drunk, maintain your hydration levels throughout the night. Drink a sufficient amount of water before going out and drink a glass after each alcoholic beverage. We know, it's quite impossible; however, this trick won’t be able to prevent you from getting buzzed, though.

#5. Dilute your drinks

Dilute your drinks if possible. This particular trick works pretty much the same way as the previous one. Add water or any other liquid to your cocktails. This way you can consume the desired number of drinks without getting as drunk as you normally would.
