How To Design Your House In Order To Accommodate The Luxury Sofa?

by IV S. Consultant

leather sofa is a heavy furniture investment, and before you bring it home, you would need to plan its placement in your home. Interior designing is all about achieving a fine balance of various elements in a certain space. If you are planning to get home a leather sofa, you are introducing elegance and sophistication. Here are some tips on designing your space to accommodate a luxury sofa:

The first thing to do is give your luxury sofa the pride of place in your living room. Since it is a special piece of furniture, you should first give it the right position, and then plan the rest of the space around it.

Scale becomes a very important aspect in the decor and design of your space. You cannot stuff a large luxury sofa in a tiny living space or put a small luxury sofa in a rather large living space.

Also, if it’s a big sofa, it should do all the talking and you can place the other tiny stuff around the room. You cannot also have a large urn or a massive painting competing for attention.

The importance of white space cannot be highlighted enough. If you want your luxury sofa to be the conversation piece or the main furniture item, you should leave enough white space around it for people to take note.

For an elegant and imposing piece of furniture such as a luxury sofa to get the attention it deserves, minimalism and muted colour/design tones work best. If you also use a lot of textiles, wall hangings or prints that are too large and loud colours, it could cause a feeling of clutter.

The colour of the leather sofa upholstery, the kind of leather, the design of the sofa should all dictate the way the rest of the room needs to be organised. If it’s a black sofa upholstery, you could use features like metal knick-knacks/accents. You could mix and match copper elements like a vase, a lamp or a candle-stand to lend a nice contrast to the black.

Typically, sofa leather colours are all dark, be it burnt oak or stone colour. They are earthy natural colours, and all a deep dark shade. You could complement a nice luxury sofa with some greenery in the form of a potted plant.

If you want a warm and inviting space around the sofa, you could do with some nice cushions or throw pillows and a soft rug.

Since a leather sofa gives the feeling of royalty, majesty and grandeur, you could do decorate the space to soften the ambience.
