The plumber's tools are varied: pipe cutter, drain tap, slide clamp, clamp to adjust, clamp to splice, and their uses are diverse: repair, uncover ... In copper, PVC or PER.

The essential tools of the plumber

Like every craftsman, the sanitary installer (yes, the plumber) uses a certain amount of specific tools. Each tool has its own function. For starters, we show you a list of the most common tools and that all good hands should have to solve any problem or health facility. Here is plumbing company Tampa is the best option for who wants the quality tools.

Pipe cutter

The pipe cutter is limited to cutting the copper pipes; from the ban on lead pipes (hence the name -among others- of plumber!), there are currently as many models/sizes of pipe cutters as there are pipes. There are several diameters depending on the diameter of the copper tube that you want to cut. It must be borne in mind that the tube cutter serves to cut the tubes for which it was designed. Performs a net, precise and burr less cut to ensure the quality of the assembly (splice, welding ...) later.

Clamp cutter

A pipe cutter is not used to cut PVC and vice versa. Each tool has its own use, for materials such as PVC and PER, a pipe cutter clamp is used. It resembles a large pruning shears.

Drain wrench

The drain faucets are used to mount or dismantle the drains of the sink or washbasins as well as to screw certain fixings for washbasins. There are adapting heads for shower drains.

Slide clamp

The sliding clamp is used to insert or crimp a joint in a PER pipe. Accessories are adapted according to the diameter of the splices/tubes used.

Clamp for splicing

The clamp for splicing allows splices on the tubes. The clamp lengthens the tube so that it receives a tube of the same diameter according to the male/female principle.

Clamp to adjust

The clamp to adjust serves to adjust (bend) the tubes in copper in order to make a whole circuit. Its size depends on the diameter of the tubes to be adjusted. There are manual, electric and hydraulic adjusters adapted to all types of tubes. The manuals (called arbaletas) serve to adjust the annealed copper. Bench adjusters serve to bend.

Grinding machine

The grinder allows to redo the base of the griffins when a leak (incrustation) appears over time.

Wrench

Of different sizes and lengths, the wrench is adaptable to the nut that we want to adjust or undo by the action of an adjustment wheel that brings the two jaws closer or further away. It is without a doubt the most indispensable tool in the entire toolbox!

Welding machine

The welding machine is used for high-temperature welding of steel and copper. Be careful, because its use requires a minimum of learning and precaution. The welder is constituted by two gas cylinders (one oxygen and one acetylene), pressure gauges to control the pressures and the whole is connected to a pressure regulator that releases the gas to the welder through a flexible tube. The gas mixture needs a spark to ignite.

Welding lamp

The welding lamp is used for low temperature welding of lead or tin . It is easier to handle than the welding machine, but it is also necessary to take some precautions in its use since it is very easy to burn/burn.

Grif key

With the same regulation principle as the wrench, the crane key serves to keep all rounded pieces even without any socket. They also exist in various sizes.

There are also many other tools specific to the plumber, but their acquisition is reserved for professionals by frequency of use and profitability. Of course, a plumber also uses screwdrivers, a drill and many more.
