How to choose the best packing Machine?

by Sunil D. Managing Director
Packing machines are equipments that can pack, seal, fill, clean and wrap packages on different levels of automation. These are also able to sort, count and accumulate products in different types of packaging like aerosol containers, cartons, bottles, etc.

Are you looking for the best packing machine to set up in your factory? Packing or packaging machines are a compilation of different machines that are part of a variety of industries. These machines can pack large or small products such as a snacks, buscuits, namkeen, kurkure, masala, granules, powder etc. In liquid there are also available liquid packing machines which fill and pack like water, oil, milk and other liquid products. These machines can hold up and pack every type of material such as filling liquids, weighing products, wrapping products, etc.

The list is endless with a variety in sizes even though their basic function is the same. This article will talk about various kinds of packing machines and the process and application of these packing machines. Here we go!

What are packing Machines?

Packing machines or packaging machines function mainly as packers of products or different parts of a product. There are other equipments associated with these machines that can fill, wrap, form, seal, clean or pack products at the various stages of automation.

As packing machines are part of so many industries, there are several packages produced to fulfill the needs of the specific industry. For example, the rice industry that sends out rice in bulk will require big blister packs to accommodate rice and you simply cannot use a box or a drum to transport this food product.

There are so many package types used by packing machines which are:

  • Drums
  • Kegs
  • Carton
  • Aerosol containers
  • Boxes
  • Blister packs
  • Capsules
  • Tubes

These packing machines use numerous types of closing methods for packaging such as:

  • Lids
  • Caps
  • Corks
  • Heat seals
  • Glue
  • Nails
  • Tamper-resistant tape
  • Wrapping paper

Applications of Packing Machines

As simple as this topic, packing machines were invented with the idea of replacing any human error in bulk orders which is bound to happen. However, capitalists found a way of correcting this point by introducing these packing or packaging machines in any and every type of industry like if any masala making company requires the masala packing machines . Now, there are numerous applications of packing machines in various industries such as:

  • Chemical and petrochemical industry
  • Automotive industry
  • Cosmetics and perfumery
  • Food and food services
  • Garment industry
  • Electronics and semiconductor
  • Household products
  • Medical industry
  • Military
  • Music
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Video and software
  • Tobacco
  • Stationery
  • Travel industry

Types of Packing Machines

There are many examples of packaging machines like snacks packing machine , powder and liquid packing machines which can be taken directly by a supplier. These suppliers also help in the installation of these equipments in place of a running factory. Some types of machinery are:

Accumulators - these machines are used to collect goods for further processing. They are usually placed at the last of all the finished products. They are known to save space by constantly rotating the products in the collection area. Accumulators come in different sizes and configuration but may differ in their usage and the product that is to be packed inside.

Capping machinery - they are used when the products are to be capped with screws, snaps on the boxes or cartons.

Closing machinery - these machines are specifically used for closing the package and sealing the deal. They close a product with the help of a tying wire, tape around the bag's neck, metal strap, by putting a lid over a drum or closing with other materials.

Box making machinery - this machinery is dedicated to making or building boxes from raw cardboard pieces.

Batching machinery - after accumulation, this machinery is used to send the material for further processes like packing. The products are put into different batches for administrative purposes.

Bagging machinery - like every other machinery, this machine is dedicated to only placing the product in a pouch or a bag. This might sound confusing but the amount is usually excessive, meaning that there could be a million products being processed every day. The importance of this machine is that it adds a consistent amount of goods inside the bag without misplacing anything.

Cartoning machinery - they make cartons out of cardboards which are sent to place products inside them. This process is the same as box-making but box and carton are different. Carton sealers is another machinery that uses tapes to seal the cartons. The boxes move through rollers attached on the sealer machine, tape gets applied over the carton. This machine can reduce damage of the product and efficiently seal loads of cartons.

Bundling machinery - now after the boxes are made, these machines pile the goods and send it further for wrapping and bagging.

Bag Openers - these machines or equipment is known to use air to open up bags and are widely popular in speed-filling operative industry. Usually wicketed bags or roll bags are used by bag openers however, this machine works differently. It uses air to blow open the bag and the product gets placed inside it.
