How to Choose a Pool Construction Company?

by Kevin Smith Author

Although building a pool is a lot of work, it's even more work to hire the right pool construction company in Atlanta. It's essential that you choose a reputable pool building company that holds ethical values and is within your budget. Here are a few tips to get you started on choosing a pool construction company to hire for your next pool project.

Get Recommendations from Friends and Family

Ask friends, family members, and other people in your community that have pools, who they used and see if they're willing to talk about the company's services. In some cases, you might even be able to get a referral discount from the pool construction company you plan to use. However, be careful of looking up too many reviews online since some may be fictitious.

Check Their References

It's a good sign if the construction company you're interviewing offers a large list of references. However, you don't necessarily have to check every single one, just pick one or two to contact and see the satisfaction of their customers. A few questions to ask the references are:

-    How well did the company work with you?

-    Did they stick to your budget and/or schedule?

-    Would you hire them again?

Perform a Background Check

During the final stages of the hiring process, you should consider performing a background check on the pool construction company you plan on using. First, you should check with the Better Business Bureau or BBB to see if there are any complaints filed against the company, then you should buy a background check on them. Fortunately, these usually cost less than $20 and offer detailed information you wouldn't know otherwise.

Trust Your Gut

Sometimes first impressions are wrong, and that's okay. It's important that you trust yourself in making this large, expensive decision. If you notice red flags such as the ones listed below, you should consider getting a second opinion.

-    Extremely low estimate

-    Demanding payment in cash upfront

-    Pressuring you into making a decision quicker than you'd like

-    Lack of professionalism

-    Making you finance the purchase through their pool company

Before signing a contract with a pool construction in Atlanta, be sure to run everything with your spouse, friends, and family to get a second pair of eyes. Mistakenly choosing the wrong pool construction company can cost a lot of time, money, and effort you may not be able to get back.
