How to Check Netgear Extender Firmware Version?

by Rozer Samith Technology

Are you looking to update the firmware on your Netgear wifi range extender?

The Netgear wifi range extender has a simple setting. The Netgear wifi range extender can be configured in one of two ways. The Netgear extender can be configured using WPS as the first way. The WPS button on the range extender is located next to the power button. The wifi range extender's light will alternate between solid green and amber.

Some older router models do not have a WPS button; in those cases, you can manually configure the Netgear extender using www.mywifiext.net l. Once you've linked your wifi-enabled desktop laptop to the netgear wifi range extender, you're ready to go. On your laptop or desktop computer that is linked to your range extender, open a web browser.

It will ask you to either create a new Netgear account on www.mywifiext.net with your existing email address, password, and a few security questions in order to configure your range extender with your wireless network, or if you already have a Netgear account, you can simply sign in with your login credentials in mywifiext.net . You may look up the default username and password in the Netgear extender documentation.

You can now put your extender in various locations to bring the dead network zone into the live network zone.

Netgear Extender Firmware Update

Any data handling device, whether it's a computer or a range extender, relies heavily on firmware. Any device's firmware is in charge of both the software and the hardware. You can influence the performance and long-term endurance of your Netgear wifi extender by modifying the firmware. The majority of Netgear extenders use the Genie configuration, and without a firmware upgrade, you won't be able to use your Netgear wifi range extender to its full potential.

Manual Procedure for Updating Netgear Extender

Checking the firmware version or the status of Netgear wifi extender firmware is simple. Simply visit the default local web page address www.mywifiext.net to access the Netgear Genie setup page. If you're having trouble logging in using the local web page address, try using the default IP address, 192.168.1.250

The IP address of a Netgear wifi range extender can also be found using the Netgear Genie app. In order to find the IP address assigned to your range extender, use the network map option in the Netgear genie app.

Once you've arrived at the mywifiext.net page you'll need to enter the username and password you set up during the setup, or if you don't remember, try using the default username admin and password in the password column, then click the Login button.

The firmware update option may be found on the left-hand side of your www.mywifiext.net. All you have to do is click on it, and the current firmware version will appear. If there is a new firmware version available, you can click it to start the download for the mywifiext.net setup page. It will begin to install once it has been downloaded, and your Netgear firmware will be updated.
