How To Apply GATE Online Form

GATE 2016 Online Form can be filled by the candidates from 1 September 2015 onwards. It can be filled till 1 October 2015 in online mode only. In the process of application form, they have to provide all the basic details correctly along with scanned images of photograph, signature, and other supporting documents.

Application fee for the same can be deposited in either online or offline mode. While filling the GATE Online Form a candidate must also specify at least three exam centers. Further, details of valid photo ID proof must be carried to the GATE 2016 Examination Center along with the original admit card. Documents to be uploaded in GATE 2016 Online Form.

Instructions for Scanned Images and Documents

• Photograph

1.  Recent, colored, passport sized, and sharp contrast photo.
   
2. Taken against light or white background.
   
3. Photo must be in JPG format on standard 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm print.
   
4. Maximum pixel resolution - 480 × 640 and minimum pixel resolution - 240 × 320

• Signature

1. Draw a box of 2 cm x 7 cm on A4 white non-ruled paper.
   
2. Mark signature using black or blue ball pen.
   
3. Get the image of the signature scanned for upload in Online Form of GATE 2016.
   
4. Save the image in JPG format with maximum pixel - 160 × 560 and minimum pixel resolution - 80 × 280.

Process of filling GATE 2016 Online Application Form

• Open the official website of GATE 2016 and register using email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password.
  
• On registration, an email containing GOAPS ID would be sent. Use this detail and password to login.
  
• Enter all the asked details in GATE 2016 Online Form– personal, educational, and communicational correctly.
  
• Choose GATE exam centers to attempt the examination.
  
• Give details of valid photo ID proof. Carry the same to the exam hall.
  
• Upload all the scanned images (JPG format) and documents (PDF format).

GATE 2016 Online Application Fee Payment

Candidates can pay the application fee in online (net-banking or credit/debit card) or offline mode (challan of SBI/Axis Bank) in order to submit GATE 2016 Online Form, completely. Application fee is as follows:
