Who is Susan Komen?
Susan Komen is the sister of Nancy G. Brinker (the founder of the Susan Komen foundation), who died from breast cancer in 1980. Nancy made a promise to Susan before she died, that she would find a way to cure breast cancer.

What is the Susan Komen foundation?
It was set up in 1982, by Nancy G. Brinker, who originally invested $200 into the movement; for what now enjoys international recognition, along with ranking as the world’s largest non-profit source for the fight against breast cancer.

The Susan Komen foundation has now raised over $2.6 billion that has gone towards:

  • Very effective research into the disease.
  • It now has fund-raising programs in over 30 different countries, along with the charities brand recognition.
