How Problem Solving Assessment helps in JEE
Since inception Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been known as a premier organization, which recommends world class teaching mechanism to produce students of high caliber. To remain ahead of time, the stalwarts at the institute have always been researching and proposing possible changes in the syllabus, which would help students to sharpen their learning skills and at the same time modify their learning abilities to match the growing demand.
Grading system and the courses like financial management were a remarkable initiative taken by the esteemed organization in the recent past. These changes were in sync with the changes taking place in the technology world. Globally the evolution and developments in different domains have considerably influenced our lives and this has, too much extent affected our education system. Thereby the need to study new subjects and issues were felt by all.
Considering these developments, it was required to train students and nurture their brain so that they can handle more analytical issues and offer noteworthy remarkable solutions. To guide students, to develop logical brains, a new set of tests were introduced by CBSE, which is known today as Problem Solving Assessment (PSA).
PSA is a special set of tests for students in class-9 and class-11. The test is aimed at infusing higher order thinking skill among the school students. PSA is designed in such a manner that it assesses and improves skills like creative thinking, decision-making, critical thinking and communication abilities of students, which indirectly helps them to solve real life problems and come out with the life changing solutions.
PSA has also helped students to prepare well for the top class competitive examinations like JEE, which is a gateway to enter IIT campuses. Students analytical and logical brain have always been tested in the IIT entrance examinations that kept on getting tougher to select, the best among the lot so that the demand pool of highly talented engineers is fulfilled.
JEE foundation classes also target students’ analytical and logical power. Just by cramming all the sections of physics, chemistry and mathematics, a student may not be sure to succeed in IIT entrance examination. For that it is essential to get full command over the principles and the concepts. What CBSE board has inculcated in the school students through PSA, should be further strengthened and so built upon that tougher academic and real life situations don’t pose a challenge for them.
