Loki is a famous character in the Marvel comics and an adopted child of Odin, the king of Asgard. He is also known as the God Of Mischief. Loki is considered as a supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character role of Loki is played by the famous Hollywood actor Tom Hiddleston. He is the brother of Thor, who is also known as the God of Thunder. Loki has been an antihero in all the MCU movies, but still, he shares a brother-bond with Thor. With exceptional magical powers and being an Asgardian God, Loki has considered being one of the most powerful supervillains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Loki has played an eye-catching role in all the MCU movies, and people became a fan of his character because of his charming personality even after playing the role of an antihero. In the film, Thor, we noticed a downfall in the Asgardian family because of the coronation of Loki’s brother. It turned Loki to become a rebel, and he seized the Asgardian throne after getting a chance in the film, Thor: The Dark World.

In the film, Thor: Ragnarok, Loki was reunited with Thor to defeat their evil sister Hela. Loki was not powerful enough as compared to his brother Thor, his father Odin, and his grandfather Bor. However, he is still considered powerful because of his magical tricks, illusions, and more.

Here we will discuss the power of Loki in each MCU movie.

Thor

The first part of the Thor film series revealed why Loki is considered to be the god of Asgard even though he is not a biological Asgardian. The answer to this question is Odin, who protected and rescued Loki from a temple when he was a newborn baby. The biological father of Loki was Frost Giant King Laufey, who discarded Loki, but Odin adopted the child and enchanted some prayers on him and granted him all the attributes of an Asgardian.

In this way, Frigga, who was the mother of Thor, became the step-mother of Loki and taught him Sorcery. Later, Loki refined his magic techniques and became a powerful Asgardian to fight against any enemy. He knew several magical tricks like he could create duplicate copies of himself that confused his enemies at the time of war.

The Avengers

At the end of the film, Thor, Loki, let himself fall into a black hole that seemed like he had disappeared forever. Since he was the master of creating illusions of himself, he was not dead. The black hole landed Loki at the doorstep of Thanos. After reaching Thanos, the Mad Titan granted him the Scepter and made a deal with Loki that if he could fetch the Tesseract from S.H.I.E.L.D, Thanos would provide him a chance to rule over the Earth. After acquiring the Scepter, Loki became more powerful, and the Mind Stone that was present in the weapon allowed him to control the minds. Loki again had a match with Thor on the top of the Stark Tower, and this time he was more powerful as compared to the last time.

Thor: The Dark World

In Asgard, Loki was punished for a life sentence by his father Odin because of the crimes he committed on the Earth. Odin said that people saw them as gods, and that is why they were not supposed to do such mischief activities. Before the death of his mother, Frigga, Loki had a conversation with his mother, and luckily Thor offered him freedom in the exchange of his support in Thor’s fight against Malekith. Loki agreed with this offer, and from here, Loki again started to explore his magical abilities.

Loki’s illusion trick played a crucial role in the fight against Malekith along with Thor. Loki created a realistic image of a wounded Thor in front of Malekith to make him realize that he had injured Thor and switched his side towards Malekith. Following this, Thor found an excellent opportunity to attack Malekith with his hammer, but Malekith escaped. Later, Loki again created a realistic illusion of himself as dying to save Thor. However, it was just another magical trick played by Loki.

After defeating Malekith, when Thor returned to Asgard to meet his father, he was shocked to see that Loki had already replaced his father as the king of the Nine Realms. Loki had taken advantage of his fake death to throw Odin off to Earth. This has proved the power of Loki in Asgard and MCU as well.

Thor: Ragnarok

Loki was an intelligent evil natured character, and he managed to fool everyone in Asgard for more than four years by creating a realistic image of himself as Odin. Everyone believed that he was Loki until his brother Thor reached to him and forced him to reveal the truth. It is because Thor has the maximum experience of Loki’s intelligence and evil tricks. In this way, Loki has proved that he is also a powerful Asgardian.

Avengers: Infinity War

In the film, Avengers: Infinity War, Loki was killed by Thanos because he knew very well about the magical tricks of Loki and his ability to cheat death multiple times. But even after getting killed in the previous film, Loki managed to appear once again in the film, Avengers: Endgame. After considering each movie in which the power of Loki has been described, we can conclude that Loki is a powerful Asgardian despite his tricky and evil magical tricks.
