How Many F1 Teams Have A Crypto Sponsor? From Binance To Velas 2022 Review

The other day, a friend of mine said he didn't like watching F1 anymore. He's a huge fan so, naturally, I asked why.

He said he found F5 more refreshing.

If you're looking for a bit of refreshing news in the world of F1, Chiliz News should be your first and only stop!

Check out their new article where they break down the F1 sponsorships with companies from the blockchain and crypto industry. Did you know that right now eight out of 10 teams have a crypto sponsor?

Let's play a game: write down the two teams YOU think still don't have a crypto partner and then read on to find out if you guessed right.

While the NBA is still leading the way when it comes to crypto partnerships, the 2022 F1 season saw wide adoption of crypto sponsorships across the board. This includes crypto exchange platforms and blockchain technology companies.

On top of that, in 2022, Formula 1 announced that Crypto.com would be the official title partner for the Miami Grand Prix. And, the two have partnered on the Crypto.com Overtake King Award, where fans get to vote for the best maneuver of the day.

In the latest report, Chiliz News breaks down the current state of F1 and crypto sponsorships, giving you an overview of each team competing for the 2022 world championship.

As stated in the report, the first F1/crypto sponsorship was announced on March 2, 2021, when Aston Martin and Crypto.com, one of the leading crypto exchange platforms, finalized their sponsorship deal. That same month, AlphaTauri signed with Fantom, an open-source smart contract platform for digital assets and dApps. This had a domino effect and, in the coming months throughout 2021 and 2022, six teams announced that they would have a crypto sponsor in the 2022 season.

You got your answer written down, right? No cheating!

Ok, so here are some of the other sponsorships covered in the report: Ferrari - sponsored by a blockchain technology developer Velas, Red Bull - sponsored by crypto exchange platform Bybit, McLaren - sponsored by open-source platform Tezos, and BWT Alpine - sponsored by one of the largest crypto exchange platforms Binance.

Now, drum roll, please. The only two teams without a crypto/blockchain sponsor are Haas and Williams. Did you get it right?
