How Live Video Streaming Works?

by Emily Pete Content Writer

Nowadays, almost everyone uses the facility of live streaming on almost every occasion. But a live streaming services is the one that provides a flexible one-stop solution for any live streaming event. It is obvious that the internet is a step forward than a television network and now surfing the internet means choosing from various video channel options. We know that television networks are streaming many popular episodes and movies online but apart from this they are also including short clips almost everywhere on the sites and online courses got wings in great numbers including webinars, webcasts and video chat. A long way from buffering and notifications of progress statuses on your screen, the streaming video technology has now developed a lot. In the enjoyment of buffer free technology, speedier internet connections, enhanced decoders, and plugins and better-equipped computers have a huge contribution.

Simplified process of video streaming.

In order to stream a video successfully, the end user has to have a player such as QuickTime, Adobe Flash or similar and must use a web browser plugin and then select a type of file he wishes to watch on the computer that could be either .mov, .rm, .wnv, .flv or more. The end user does not actually see the copy of the video on his computer as it does not really exist. The data is delivered and displayed in fragments and is even discarded immediately.

For this reason, we use a streaming server or a real-time protocol. The process starts with the web server who selects the file that you want to watch and sends it to the streaming server. Then the server sends you back directly the selected file in real time with the help of a real-time protocol (RTP), real-time streaming protocol (RTSP) or a real-time transport control protocol (RTCP). The best video streaming services are the one that fits the best for your requirements and really depends on what you are looking for.

The success of video streaming.

It is expected that the worldwide income from mobile TV and video services will reach $9.5 billion in the year 2017 taking a huge inclination from about $4.5 billion in 2013. It is clear that the demand is rapidly growing all over the world.
