The printing - 

Dye sublimation printing is used for ceramic chip printing. The ink is heated to about 390 degrees Fahrenheit and then pushed into the chip using a heat press. When subjected to such extreme temperatures, the solid ink vaporizes, allowing it to infiltrate the chip's surface & chemically link with the polyester used to make the chips.

Custom ceramic poker chips are more expensive than custom-printed chips or chips with an inlay label because of the complexity of the printing process. The advantages of a ceramic gaming chip over other materials include the ability to print designs from edge to edge, stackability, durability, and resistance to counterfeiting due to the ability to make each chip unique.
