How is Laser Vaginal Tightening Performed?

by Dr Rajat Gupta - RG Aesthetics Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon

If you know someone who went for a surgical vaginal tightening, you may have heard about the pain of recovery. While vaginal surgery in Delhi has several benefits and long-lasting results, getting those results can be painful, and you may not have the luxury to take a week off from work for recovery.

However, here’s the good news: patients who desire genital rejuvenation do not have to undergo surgery. Although the surgery is only as invasive as necessary, there is a far more minimally-invasive method of performing vaginoplasty, i.e. using radiofrequency technology (RF) and lasers.

Why Opt for Non-Surgical Vaginal Tightening?

Non-surgical vaginal tightening comes with several benefits. Apart from a shorter recovery time, the procedure is done over a series of 30-minute sessions. This means scheduling clinic visits is much easier since you do not need hours of surgery and then weeks of recovery. Instead, it is a completely painless method of vaginoplasty that ensures immediate results.

It is also the preferred method of vaginoplasty for patients whose vaginas have not loosened too much due to age or childbirth. The lesser the tightening, the more effective the vaginal laser will be.

The Procedure

The objective of using RF and laser technology is manifold. RF technology tightens tissues by producing heat. Laser technology stimulates the body’s healing response, causing an automatic tightening through the introduction of new cells.

Beginning with ultrasound gel being applied to the treatment area, therapeutic and RF energies are used. These help contract and tighten the labia and vaginal canal. They also shrink and tighten the outer tissues. Meanwhile, vaginal laser technology stimulates collagen and elastin fibre production in the area, initiating tissue and nerve healing. This automatically causes tightening while simultaneously increasing the firmness of the skin and making it more supple.

This way, non-surgical vaginoplasties are performed. They take only 30 minutes and are completely painless, with most patients not requiring anaesthesia during the procedure.

Recovery and Results

The recovery period is non-existent in comparison to surgical tightening. However, the results are not necessarily visible immediately. Collagen production caused by heating the tissues can take up to a month to show. However, tightening the labia majora with RF technology is visible immediately. Laser treatments, meanwhile, are more superficial treatments which injure the epithelium. The healing takes several days, after which period, the patient sees their results.
