Yesterday one of my friend asked me to help her with her laptop which got infected by a kind of browser virus. Once she opened her browser,her page was redirected to some porn websites.That was really a nightmare for her, because she need to make a public presentation the other day. She at first wantd to take her lantop to computer maintainence center,but found it a little bit awkward afterwards. So she turned to me for help. Actually browser hijack  is not a very stubborn issue, several steps can sort it out. Yet the annoying part is that it happens when you need your computer funtion properely most. Therefore I write the removal steps down in case anyone comes across such troubles and do not how to fix. The virus my friend got is called  Noplok.org . Following I will briefly introduced this virus, then go to the details on removal steps. If you are not interseted in the virus's infomation, you can directly skip to removal steps. Browser hijak varies in many forms, but the mechanism of action is the same. So if you encounter any kinds of browser hijack, the following procedure can be used too.

Noplok.org redirect virus means that a malicious code has taken over and modified the settings of your browser without your knowledge,with a lot of pop-up windows related to their other products flood into your browser, turning your surfing experience into a nightmare. An increase in traffic to the website will mean a lot of sales and online profits for attackers. It makes profit by letting PC users click per-click-paid techniques on this Noplok.org site. In a word, the ultimate purpose of creating this redirect virus is to make money. Computer users have to be more and more carefully when they are browsing with the infected computer because any pop-ups can be dangerous as leading them to visit unsafe sites and causing unwanted further PC problems.

Guide to Remove Noplok.org Redirect Virus from the Infected PC

 

1. Disable running processes on Windows Task Manager.
1) Press Ctrl+Alt+Del keys to activate Windows Task Manager.

 


2) From Processes tab, find out the associated processes of the threat and then right click on the End Process button to totally terminate them.

 

 


2. Uninstall associated programs of Noplok.org from the computer.


1)Click on Start button, click Control Panel.


2) Click Program, click on Uninstall a Program.

 


3) From Programs and Features, locate the associated programs of the browser hijacker from the applications list, locate the associated programs and then click Uninstall button to remove them.


4) Confirm the uninstall request then follow the wizard to complete the removal.


3. Modify browser settings to stay away from the cyber attacks triggered by the redirect virus.

1) Enable the browser.
2) Revert browser settings and fully remove the associated Internet temp files.


For Internet Explorer
Click Tools-> Go to Internet Options-> Click Advanced tab-> Click on Reset button

 


For Mozilla Firefox
Click Firefox-> locate Help option-> Go to Troubleshooting Information-> Click Reset Firefox button


For Google Chrome
Click the wrench icon-> Click Settings-> Click Show Advanced Settings link-> Click Reset Browser Settings
3) Reset the browser homepage manually.


For Internet Explorer
Click General from the Internet Options -> type a secure and new web address -> confirm the modification


For Mozilla Firefox
Click Options from the Firefox menu-> Click General tab-> type a secure and new web address -> confirm the changes.

For Google Chrome


Go to Advance section in the Settings-> Click Show Home Button-> Click the displayed Change link-> type a secure and new web address


4) Restart the browser to confirm the modification.

 

Conclusion

Noplok.org redirect virus is equipped with rather high technology by the cyber criminals in order to enable the virus capable to escape from the scan of various antivirus programs which protect the target computers. Computer users cannot realize anything strange when the virus attacks the system because the redirect has been modified by its author. Worse still, it can spy on your Internet activities and track your cookies and browser history in order to collect your sensitive information.
