How has 4k Technology Changed the Whole TV Viewing Experience?
by Tanjni Pache Content Writer As enumerated by most of the uhd tv reviews one sees on the internet or other media sources, the technology behind a spectacular UHD viewing experience or 4K as it is called, has been actively pushed by several popular streaming websites with broadcasters and studios aiding the process. In fact many websites also offer 4K compatible devices which can be coupled with all Smart Tvs like the TCL etc., so that the viewers do not miss out on the viewing experience.4K Technology - Definition
Commonly called the Ultra HD, the 4K technology refers to the use of TV resolutions of pixels measuring 3840 x 2160. The total approximately comes to 8.3 millions of pixels, an amount which is about 4 times the resolution of the full HD TV. The advantage of having so many pixels is clearly visible in some of the best 4k uhd tv screens and they pertain to:
- A very high pixel density,
- A clear and well-defined picture,
- Better detailing and texture of the output etc.
In order to get the best viewing experience out of 4k smart TVs, it is recommended that the viewer sit closer to the TV than he would when watching a HD TV. This makes for an immersive 3 dimensional experience. Yet even if one watches a 4k TV from a distance, he will also be able to enjoy its benefits since the increased resolution and its accompanying pixel density automatically ensure depth and clarity with the colours rendered in a very smooth and subtle manner and the picture appearing to look 3 dimensional and solid.
4K and ULTRA HD - The Difference
While both the terms are generally used synonymously, there is a subtle difference between the two. In the literal sense the 4K refers to a resolution of 4096 x 2160 while the ultra resolution is of 3840 x 2160. 4K resolution is what one actually sees when viewing digital cinemas while the ultra resolution is what people get when they buy a 4k ultra hd smart tv.
While technically referring to the ultra TV as a 4k TV might be wrong but colloquially they are used interchangeably.
