You need an approved language test to prove your language fluency. This means a minimum IELTS score for Canada PR in 2024 which is 6 to 6.5 across all bands. You can score as much as 7 to 10 also depending on your exam strategy.
For English: Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)
For French: Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC)
You need a minimum of CLB 7 or NCLC 7 for a single official language across all 4 languages. If you need points for the second official language you need to get at least CLB 5 or NCLC 5 in all 4 language parts.
First Language – 24 points (Maximum)
