Replacing the inkjet printers, the laser printers have taken their place owing to higher speed and better quality prints. These laser printers come with two vital components influencing the quality of hard copy, namely the cartridge and drum unit. Although both are equally responsible for the printer to function smoothly and efficiently yet they share differences based on their components and functionality. Nevertheless, based on the laser printer type, the drum unit and the toner cartridge could be separated or even integrated into a single component, they have unique roles to perform.

i. Owing to Electric Charge and Printing

A change taking place in electric charge causes the toner particles to get transformed into the paper. ii. Drum Unit and Toner Cartridge

Equal to the longevity of the laser printer, toner cartridges, and the drum units are replaced, but there is a streak of difference. Compared to the drum units, the toner cartridges are frequently replaced. After three or four toners are used, then the drum units are replaced. As the toners are replaced more than the drum units, so it is possible to go ahead without causing a disturbance to the drum unit.
