Founders Maria and Filippo Casella moved to Australia in the year 1957 and thus began their journey to start a business where the whole family could work together. With a rich winemaking history going back to 1820, Casella Family Brands has been successful in creating a name for themselves. Filippo recognised the Riverina region's potential for producing great wines and so he purchased land in Riverina in 1965 near the small town of Yenda, New South Wales. Starting from viticulture, the business expanded to winemaking which prompted the need for a winery and thus leads to the establishment of the Casella Family winery in 1969.
