How can I manually configure the Linksys range extender?

Connect the power adapter of the Linksys extender setup to a power outlet.

Connect the Linksys range extender and turn it on.

Allow the state of the power LED to change to blue.

Open a web browser on the computer or other connected device that is receiving the wifi network of the Linksys extender.

In the address bar, type extender.linksys.com as the Linksys extender login default domain address.

Use the default IP address 192.168.1.1 in the Address bar instead of extender.linksys.com if you get a login issue.

The Linksys extender Setup screen appears by default when the extender is logged in for the first time.

Enter the username and password for the Linksys extender login. Leave the username box empty and use admin as the default password.

When the basic home setup screen for the extender appears, select Wireless.

To set up and configure a Linksys extender, select basic wireless options.

For manual Linksys extender setup, set the configuration view radio button to Manual.

12. In the SSID field, type the Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) of your source router.

13. Next, choose your security options. Select Wireless Security from the drop-down menu.

14. Select WEP, WPA, or WPA2 as the source router's wireless security method.

15. In the key field provided, type the password for the router's wireless network mode.

16. Save the settings for the wireless security mode.

17. Turn off both the source router and the Netgear extension for 30 seconds.

18. Turn on the router's adapter first, then the Linksys extender.

19. Allow the LEDs to settle.

20. The Linksys range extender connects to your home router and becomes synchronized.

21. The Linksys extender configuration successfully connects to the router's wireless network and expands it.
