When Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin married at a private ceremony in the Aston House at Seoul's Sheraton Grande Walkerhill, celebrity watchers in Korea wondered if they were part of a new trend. Despite the numbers of celebrities that turned out for the event, the wedding was comparatively small and private.
And the celebrities that were invited were not allowed to bring their managers and stylists.

The
Korean media outlet Korea Times pointed out that their wedding may be part of a
trend toward smaller celebrity weddings. It was the second celebrity wedding in
2015 that was small and private, even though the bride and groom were famous.
Lee
Na Young and Won Bin not only had a small private wedding, but it was also a
secret ceremony. According to an article in the Korean media outlet Dispatch,
the couple held their ceremony at a bed and breakfast in Jeongseon. About 50
guests attended and they were mostly family members. No celebrities attended and
the celebrities the Dispatch contacted for comments did not even know the
ceremony had taken place.
"We
wanted to have the wedding be as quiet as possible, as they make an everlasting
promise," said a representative for Eden Nine, the agency that represents both
actors.
Singers
Lee Hyo Ri and Lee Sang Soon plan to marry in a private ceremony at their Jeju
Island home. Only family members are invited.
These
weddings are quite different from the large-scale ceremonies other k-celebs had
enjoyed in recent years.
About
400 guests, including Lee Bo Young and Lee Jong Suk, attended the wedding of
actor Yoon Sang Hyun to singer MayBee. The couple also married at the Seoul
Sheraton Grande Walkerhill.
Lee
Bo Young and Ji Sung limited their wedding to 200 close friends and family
members, which is small by celebrity standards. "I Hear Your Voice" co-stars
Yoon Sang Hyun and Lee Jong Suk attended her wedding too. Their parents asked
them to make the wedding a family affair, so they got to invite 100 guests
each.
"I
don't want our wedding ceremony to be crazy," said Ji Sung at a pre-wedding
appearance on the show Music Plaza. "We want it to be a wedding where we are
congratulated by our family and we sincerely thank them back."
Perhaps the biggest recent celebrity wedding was that of actors Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung. The couple invited about 900 guests to attend their 2013 ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
