Holiest Place for Jokhang Temple of Tibet Tour

Jokhang indicates 'House of Buddha'. In the middle of old Lhasa town, Jokhang Temple is the primary chair of the Gelugpa (Yellow) Division of Tibetan Buddhism forTours China. It was initially designed in 647 AD. Jokhang Temple is the religious middle of Tibet and the holiest location for all Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims. Occupied on the second floor of the temple are the sculptures of Master Songtsem Gampo, Queen Bhrikuti (the first wife) and Queen Weng Cheng (the second wife) and on the third floor is the picture of Palden Lhamo, a wrathful deity regarded by the Tibetans as the women guard of the Dalai & Panchen Lamas and Lhasa.
