Here's a Story That Will Tell You How You Can Enjoy in Just Your Tees and Shorts for Men

Go where your heart takes you. This is one of the sayings that I abide by. I still remember the moment I decided to do what my heart said and how it brought a positive change in my lifestyle. It was a Friday evening, and I met up with a few college friends after work. As they might have guessed, I bored them all with how frustrating my life was and how I didn’t get a break because of a stressful job and a lot of family responsibilities. In the middle of my tiring monologue, my friend Sam told me to make a difference in my life and follow my heart. When I asked how, his answer changed my life for better.

He told me that we all were, all five of us were to meet at his place Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and he’ll disclose the plan only then. He also instructed us to bring some of the most casual and cool apparels we possessed. Assuming that he had a quiet weekend with friends at his home, I informed my family that I wasn’t available on the weekend and put in a request to skip work on Monday. I decided to pack a couple of my t-shirts and printed shorts for men.

Looking forward to some quiet nights at Sam’s home with sports and beer, I also packed by jersey tees and cargo shorts for men. When I reached Sam’s house, he told us all that we were visiting his uncle who lived near the Juhu beach. Slightly astonished but still game, we all agreed to it.

What followed next were some of the most precious moments of my life. His uncle, an ex-army man, was 50 years old but looked as young as 35. He had no wrinkles, a cheerful smile and a childlike enthusiasm that pulled us towards him. He told us that he had participated in the Kargil war and had missed death by inches. From that horrible day, he learned to live his life completely.

In just two days we spent at Sam’s uncle’s house, we all learned the value of living life on our own terms and not regretting a moment of it. We played a lot of sports, watched TV, played video games that helped us reminisce about our childhood and most importantly just walked meaninglessly along the Juhu beach while wearing our t-shirts and shorts for men. We also made a pact to keep our mobile phones on silent throughout the weekend and just called our families once a day.

It was this wonderful weekend that made me realize that you don’t have to be rich to enjoy life and rejuvenate your body and mind, you just need to indulge in right things and be around the right people. I still feel thankful to Sam for teaching me the value of following my heart!!
