Maintaining a healthy hair care routine is key if you desire long lustrous beautiful hair. Along with following a proper hair care regimen, eating nutritious foods loaded with essential minerals and vitamins is important too. Fruits, vegetables, fish meat, eggs need to be in your diet. What you eat not just shows on your skin, shows on your hair too.

Some Healthy Hair Recipes



  • Apply warm coconut, olive or mustard oil before bed time and shampoo the next morning.
  • Go for regular oil massages
  • Eat a healthy diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and foods with essential nutrients, drink your 8 glasses of water for keeping your hair healthy and strong.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons of fullers earth ( multani mitti ) with half a cup of aloe-vera gel , yoghurt , lime juice and egg, and apply all over scalp and cover with a shower cap and wash hair with shampoo depending on your hair type after 30 to 45 minutes. This strengthens and moisturizes the hair from its roots.
  • Banana and honey pack is excellent for adding that instant sheen to hair naturally.
  • For dandruff free hair, soak fenugreek seeds over night, make a paste and apply all over scalp and wash.
  • Mix a tsp of lime juice to the final rinse for shiny hair.
  • After an oil massage, steam the hair or wrap a hot towel over the head, and apply a hair pack.
  • Mix in half a cup of yoghurt with two eggs; apply over scalp and hair, let stay and wash hair after an hour. Yoghurt smoothens and moisturizes the hair while egg makes it stronger from the roots.
  • Mix coconut oil, castor and olive oil , slightly warm up and add hibiscus leaves , apply all over scalp and hair once it is lukewarm.
  • Henna, tea decoction, lime juice and an egg yolk mixture when applied to hair and scalp strengthens and conditions hair, henna is an excellent natural hair conditioner.
  • Use herbal based products over chemical products, hair gets damaged and dry with repeated usage of styling gels, creams and colors.
  • Mix in fullers earth with rose water and egg yolk and apply, let stay for half an hour and shampoo.
  • Apply henna every two weeks for conditioning and healthy hair growth.
  • Go for regular trimming, this helps hair grow healthy without split ends.
  • Use clean brushes to comb your hair, do not brush wet hair , hair is at its weakest when wet , let dry and comb.
  • Avoid chocolates , fat foods , colas etc.
  • Eat right for healthy hair.
