Your liking for cheese is actually beneficial for your dental health! You can eat more of it to up the pH level in the mouth and cut the risk of tooth decay. Plus, cheese boosts saliva in the mouth and is a rich source of protein and calcium. You must eat this nutrient-rich food on a regular basis to solidify the tooth enamel.
Yogurt
Yogurt is beneficial to dental health in very much the same way as cheese is for being rich in protein and calcium. Plus, it contains probiotics known to fight off bacterial risks in gums and preventing diseases. You can eat more of a plain variety of cheese without added sugar and give strength to teeth and gums.
Leafy Greens
Any foods rich in vitamins and minerals are good for your tooth. This is where leafy greens stand out and plus, they are low in calories as well. Being high in calcium, such foods solidify the enamel and help boost oral health. More importantly, they contain folic acid – a type of vitamin B – known to do wonders against gum diseases.
Apples
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, goes the maxim which is true for dental health as much for overall health. After all, apples may be sweet foods, they, however, are a rich source of fiber and water and produce saliva in the mouth to wash away bacteria and food particles in the mouth. It also stimulates the gums.
