Health insurance in Dallas experiences surge of interest for new enrollments

According to a 2019 report from the Kaiser Family Foundation, 17 million Americans who are considered “non-elderly” remain uninsured and are eligible for marketplace plans. Enrollment in exchanges set up under the ACA is normally limited to a brief time window each year in the fall, but 11 of the 12 states and the District of Columbia that have ACA exchanges, including Dallas health insurance, are now offering these special enrollment periods outside the normal window to ensure as many people as possible have coverage for coronavirus testing and treatment.
