It is very well said that the most valuable things in the world are available for free. And it is equally true that the things available for free are not valued as per they deserve. Air and water are two of the most essential things amongst them. We do not realize their value even though we cannot live without them. But these things can also kill us. It is important that we understand that there is a particular amount that is essential. Exceeding that amount can sometimes even have fatal consequences. And to protect us from this, to maintain that proportion, we need shelter. Our house is a place which gives us shelter, a place where we feel the safest. And windows are the gateways to the essentialities of life like air and sunlight.  They help us deciding the amount of such essentialities and then allowing only that particular quantity which is not to be exceeded.

The history of windows goes back to several thousands of years ago. Back then these were just small openings at the walls for ventilation. Windows are the pathways to ventilation and sunlight and the provision that they can be closed gives us the facility to avoid any thing unwanted things like dust, ambience noise or rain. They are the frames which allow us to look at the scenic world outside whilst staying in shelter. We might not realize their importance as they are very common. But it is equally true that we cannot imagine pour homes without them.
