Cricket World cup is the most ultimate battle of the teams which put everything at stake to perform to their best capabilities. The maiden Cricket World Cup was hosted by the intimidating Windies in 1975 who successfully defended their title in 1979. In 1983, India took the world by surprise and won its first ever World Cup under the fine leadership of the legendary Kapil Dev. The saga of the Cricket World continued and in 1987 it was Australia which lifted the grand cup followed by Pakistan in 1992. 

 

In 1996, Pakistan could not defend its title and Sri Lanka did not fail to take everyone by surprise. Following the 1996 world cup was an Australian hattrick! The Aussies won in 1999, followed it up with a win in 2003 by defeating India in the finals and defended their title even in 2007.
