From Prime Minister of India to Bollywood's Shahenshah, everyone took to Twitter to wish the singing doyen Lata Mangeshkar a very happy birthday.

The legendary playback singer, who started her career at the tender age of 13, celebrates her 89th birthday on September 28.

As Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar turned 89 today, several film celebrities including sister Asha Bhosle, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, singer Shreya Ghosal wished her and thanked her for giving several memorable songs. Mangeshkar has recorded songs for over a thousand Bollywood movies and has lent her voice for over 36 regional Indian languages and foreign languages.

The 'Lag Ja Gale Se Phir' singer, who was born on 28 September 1929, is an Indian playback singer and occasional music composer. She is the recipient of three National Film Awards, 12 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards, four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards and many more. She is also the second vocalist, after late Indian singer M. S. Subbulakshmi, to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2001.
