Halo: The Master Chief Collection Adds Jetpacks To Halo 3 Campaign

by John Martin Engineer

The creators of Halo are updating Halo 3 with jetpacks to prepare it for its appearance in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Early this year, Halo 2 was launched on PC and now,  Halo 3 is the next game coming to this collection.

This much-awaited game series, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been the most profitable undertaking for 343 Industries. With time, many new game releases have been added to the series and new updates have been put into existing entries. The good news for fans of the game is the recent news where 343 announced that it was adding Firefight mode to Halo 3: ODST. Earlier the game launched without a multiplayer option which was of great disappointment to the fans. But Halo 3 seems to be fully prepared when during mid of June it was put to a PC beta test of its campaign and multiplayer modes.

As the test got over with satisfying results, Halo 3 became completely ready to be added to The Master Chief Collection. As the release is getting closer, fans are excited to see the new game and its new updates. Amidst this excitement, 343 Industries announced some thrilling details about what fans can expect when the game goes live. They wrote a blog post mentioning in detail about the lots of technical and artistic work being done on the game. According to the recent announcement of 343 Industries, Halo 3 will be surprising fans with an amazing addition, that is, jetpacks. As the developers are saying, jetpacks were initially planned and designed for Halo: Combat Evolved but they ditched it before release. However, a cheat remained in the game which the developers could use, but setting it was not an easy task and required some complicated button combos. Hence, while planning the release of Halo 3, the creators agreed on making the jetpack cheat an official part of the game and worked great to change its controls to function like the jetpacks in Halo Reach. Creators said that in Halo 3, the jetpacks will be tied to a new skull. Therefore, it is going to be more of a unique reward for dedicated players rather than a core part of the game.

343 Industries is constantly working to port and modernize classic Halo games to make it more suitable for the new players. Nonetheless, it is also looking forward to work on the next games in the series. The creators are efficiently working on Halo Infinite, which is going to launch on Xbox Series X. However, the date of the launch is still not specified by the makers. Apart from this, the news is also there that, 343 is still working towards the new entries in the game series. It is being said that they are working on a separate unannounced Halo project, indicated by a recent job listing.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been a really long term project for the developers but the good part is that the wait of the fans for their beloved series has been worth it. Not doubt that adding jetpacks as an optional skull modifier is a great move devised by the developers. It was also good for the old gamers to play the game exactly as they remember it while also delivering something new to them that could spice up their gaming experience.
