Halloween 2020: Use These Tips for Trick or Treating While Staying Safe

by Era elevators Online Shopping Store

Halloween is around the corner, and the children are all excited to dress up as ghosts, goblins, and witches to visit your doors shouting “Trick or Treat!”  But keeping in mind the coronavirus situation, accepting random little visitors at home might seem daunting. Also, the Centers for Disease Control has said that the custom of trick-or-treating can further contribute to the spread of COVID-19.

It has been more than six months into the pandemic now, and people are trying to adapt to the “new normal” by maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and using plenty of sanitizers. If we can find out creative ways to move on with our lives in a pandemic, then why can’t we find some ways to keep the Halloween custom alive while staying safe? So here we are with some clever ways to make Halloween less tricky and more treaty.

Hanging it up: As recommended by CDC, families can wrap up individual goodie bags and line them up along their sidewalk or driveway for trick or treaters to grab and go while continuing to social distance. If you have a tree in your front yard, then this idea could be best for you.

Reel clever: This one would require your fishing tools. Families who have them can use a fishing reel and a drill to make a ghost that delivers treats for kids. This will keep the distance in check while you happily treat the kids with candies from the window of your house.

Organize outdoor parties:  Generally, indoor gatherings pose more risk than outdoor gatherings. Avoid sharing props like swords, wands, or tiaras to minimize contact. So, an outdoor party for a short duration with a limited number while taking necessary safety precautions should be fine.

Establish ground rules: Ensure that your child doesn’t dig around candy bowls, ask them to stay as far away from people outside the house to maintain social distancing. Always wear a mask and carry a hand sanitizer.

Strictly Avoid the Following:

Joining a big group of trick-or-treaters: Sending your kid out with a group of another 10 to 12 kids should be a strict no. Limit the group to 3 or 4 kids at most, and try to choose those who have been practicing social distancing.

Staying with others for long hours:  This should be kept in mind while going out or meeting someone new. Sitting for more hours close together increases the risk of transmission.

Face-to-face exposure: You might be following all the safety precautions religiously but this is one is the most important of all. If you can limit your face-to-face interaction with people outside your house, then you are less likely to get infected. So, avoid meeting too many people, and don’t forget your mask and face shield for extra protection. So, take the necessary precautions and celebrate Halloween this year as cleverly as possible.
