Hair loss is a part of life each one of us has to deal with at one point or the other. Especially if there are bald people in your family, there are chances that you too, may lose hair easily. Therefore, if you are experiencing hair loss or worried that it might happen to you, you should learn how to stop or prevent it. The saying of ‘Prevention is better than cure’ works very well in this case.

 If you are sick, we have to take good care of ourselves. But if you choose to avoid medications that are required, or avoid visiting a doctor, there are chances that your body would ultimately lose the battle. In this case, your body might end up burning all its energy in order to make you feel better. As a result, there will be no energy left to ensure you hair follicles to keep growing ultimately resulting in hair loss.

 Apart from taking good care of the health, there are other tips that might answer the question as to how to prevent hair fall in men and women. Below is a guide towards shielding against this chronic disease.

 

·         Hair Products- The phrase ‘Less is more’ could not be truer in the case of applying hair products. Things like shampoo, conditioner, leave on oil and many more hold the tendency of causing irreparable damage to hair follicles. It would be recommended that you use these products judiciously. Contrary to the saying by manufacturers, there is really no need to apply them on your hair every day. Due to presence of strong chemicals, most hair products in the market tend to strip of the natural oils causing hair to dry out and become brittle. So be sure to use only a minimal amount when absolutely necessary.

 

·         Avoid Using or Applying heat on the Hair-One of the main reasons of Hair loss in women especially is the excessive use of hair tools like curling iron, straightener and blow dryer. These can cause breakage due to excessive heat. If you absolutely need any of these devices, be sure to limit the amount of heat. Choose the lowest settings at all times and do not exceed using it more than 5 minutes. Keep in check the frequency too. This heat will not only damage the hair but will loosen the scalp resulting in flaking. Therefore stick to natural styling. 

 

·         Dietary Habits- Just how the skin responds to a nutritious and well-balanced diet, you hair too can also benefit from an increased consumption of protein, vitamins and minerals. Try cutting down on animal fat and pack away from lean meat, green vegetable fruits and eggs instead. You might also want to supplement you diet with adequate amounts of Vitamin D and E.

 

·         Use a Wide Toothed Comb-Invest in a better comb rather than hair fall treatment. A fine toothed comb can cause the strands of hair to break. This happens after you have shower causing the locks to tangle. To counter this, a wide toothed comb would be a wise choice. This helps separating the strands more carefully without causing any damage at all.

 

Even after taking such steps of preventing hair loss, if you experience the problem, it would be advisable to visit a doctor and start up with a treatment.
