With the tourism industry booming in places like Dubai, the number of travel agents in Dubai is on the rise. The tourist attractions and the experiences in Dubai are humungous and a traveller needs guidance and directions to plan out their travel and sight seeing in the Emirate. From hotel bookings to car rental bookings as well as from booking passes and tickets for ski world, water parks, such lifestyle experiences, travel agents in Dubai play a key role. Major events such as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, National Day celebrations and the Volvo Ocean Race have boosted hotel occupancy in Abu Dhabi over the last few years. With room rates across Abu Dhabi below those of Dubai by approximately 40 per cent, the competitive edge has served the capital’s hotels well during the festive season. The progress of big-ticket projects such as the Guggenheim and Louvre museums on Saadiyat Island and new shopping destinations such as Yas Mall that attract families from neighboring Arabian Gulf countries is expected to garner leisure travel and diversify the crowd away from the traditional corporate clientele. Almost 7,350 rooms are in the pipeline for Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi hotels have higher occupancy rates from Tuesday to Thursday because of corporate demand, while occupancy rates on Friday, Saturday and Sunday fall down.

Hotel revenues are expected to increase.
Thirty new Sharjah hotels are expected to come over the next three years adding some four thousand new hotel rooms to its existing capacity of ten thousand hotel rooms. The emirate currently has fifty hotels and fifty-six hotel apartments. With global brands such as Hilton and Radisson already represented, there are a number of new 4-star, 5-star hotel and resort property projects already in progress.
