On the 50th anniversary of the Grammy’s, the Grammy Museum opened its doors. The year was 2008 and since that time the museum has been drawing tourists and visitors to its location in downtown Los Angeles at 800 W Olympic Blvd. For anyone who wants to entrench themselves in the rich history of them music industry, the Grammy Museum is an ideal site seeing location to add to a Los Angeles touring itinerary.

The Grammy Museum features four floors. Inside the museum, visitors will find the Clive Davis Theater featuring 200 seats, recording booths, instrument stations with interactive features, displays, exhibits, and music artifacts. There are so many reasons why the Grammy Museum is ideal tourist destination for individuals, and families. The site is also ideal for group visits. Below are some of the best reasons to put the Grammy Museum on your list of things to do while in Los Angeles.

Reason 1:  The Museum proves to be an educational experience.

Inside the museum are areas and exhibits that people can view for the learning experience. The environment inside the museum inspires and encourages an exploratory interest in music. One of the primary missions of the museum is to perpetuate the important role music and musicians play in a historical and cultural sense. The museum also encourages others to learn about the art of music and stirs up a lifelong interest in the arts for many children who visit the facility. Another goal the museum has is to increase the educational opportunities that are currently limited so more children get a chance to enjoy an education involving music and the arts. There have been more than 300 special programs available to the public since the museum’s launch, all of which sought to inspire children through a musical education.

Reason 2:  The museum has plenty of cool exhibits to see.

The museum is home to fascinating exhibits, all of which highlight the history of music. The museum begins on the fourth floor and moves down to the third and second floors. On the fourth floor, visitors can use some of the latest technologies to select music from different eras and listen to it. A second exhibit has music professionals instruct visitors about the business or recording music in one of six soundproof recording studios on the premises.

Reason 3:  The Grammy Museum has fun things to do.

Visitors of the museum get a chance to sing and record music. There is the opportunity to establish your own rap sound track, all with music in the background, so the visitor gets to create a cool recording. Further, when not recording, it is fun to walk around and look at some of the most famous clothing worn in the industry with the likes of Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Kanye West.

Reason 4:  You will never grow bored with the exhibits.

The Grammy Museum is not a place where you will see the same exhibits repeatedly. While it is true there are some permanent exhibits, the Grammy Museum is offering new exhibits all the time, with shows highlighting musicians like the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, and Taylor Swift, among others.

Reason 5: The best reason to visit the Grammy Museum is the affordability factor.

The location is ideal for individuals or families. Adults pay just under $13.00 for entry. If in college, students get a discount of a couple of dollars, just as senior citizens do. Children ages five through 17 pay $10.95 for entry, and members of the military can get in for $10.95.
