Google Nest WiFi: Everything You Need To Know

by Aida Martin Norton Setup

Google has launched the latest web routers called Nest WiFi. It consists of two different devices; one is  “Points” that intensifies the signal and expands the network, and the other one is a router that plugs into the modem. There is also a built-in Google assistant support available to attract the users. Most importantly, the Nest WiFi looks like an oversized marshmallow with rounded corners, sporting soft plastic, and modern colors.

Additionally, Nest WiFi offers 25% better coverage and 2x speed from the two-piece system that is Google WiFi. It is accessible in the two-piece and three-piece system, that you can buy according to your preference. The hardware is made in such a way that users can place it in the open as well. Google paid appropriate attention to its design to ensure it offers better signals along with the appearance.

How to Set It Up?

Similar to Google WiFi, it offers simple setup with guest and parental controls, along with a seamless setup within the Google Home app for smart home systems. For setting it up, all you need to do is plug in your router and tap the “Setup new devices” prompt present at the upper side of the Home application. Now, choose the Nest WiFi router from the list. By doing so, a series of steps will pop up on your screen. Make sure to get the whole thing up and running.

Moreover, the application even knows about you having a three-pack or two packs of Nest WiFi and will prompt you accordingly. Management of the system using Home application is very simple and straightforward, much like the original Google WiFi app. It will also test the running speed and connection between any web points and your router. It also allows users to create a guest network for up to 4 hours at a time in case of prioritizing devices. The family group option is also available, that allows contenting blocks for certain sites and setting schedules.

More About Nest WiFi

Is it worth it? Well, the brand new Google Nest WiFi does not have WiFi 6 technology. It cannot benefit most of the homes. In a public place such as an airport, hundreds of thousands of users try to access the internet using “WiFi 6” technology through a single point. But using the extra tech will drive up the cost of your router even if you have more than 10 or 15 devices in your home. So, buy the Nest WiFi home system to extend your network even further conveniently.
