Gmail Smtp Settings

by Finn J. Tips and Tricks

Now there is a second method that you can use to configure Gmail SMTP as the SMTP sender. This will allow you to manually connect Gmail SMTP servers to send your WordPress emails.

It is not as safe as the OAuth. Therefore, we definitely recommend the OAuth. But it's just another way to get over it if you need it.

To do that, let's go back to the WTP Mail SMTP configuration area and make sure you enter the sender's email and your sender name correctly.

In the Mail section, instead of using Google, you can select Other Smtp.

You may want to scroll down to Gmail SMTP Settings information.

And you must complete the SMTP host and Google SMTP port information. For the SMTP host, you must configure smtp.gmail.com, and for the SMTP port, use port 465.

Next, for encryption, you may want to select the appropriate encryption.

You want to keep authentication enabled by default. For authentication, let's activate that and from here you must add your username and password.

SMTP username:

This is your Gmail or it could also be your custom Gsuite domain name.

SMTP Password:

Configure the password you use for your email account and click the Save settings button.

Proof of email:

Here's the deal, no matter what method you used before, you can always send a test email. To send a test email, you may want to go to the WTP mail SMTP settings, click on the Email test tab that will appear next to the Settings tab as shown in the image below.

In the Send to field, type the email address to which you want to send your test email and click the Send button.

We are doing this just to make sure there is no problem.

And you can see that once you send a test email, you will receive a notification that it was sent successfully if you follow this step-by-step tutorial.
