Glen Rose Full-Time School Chaplains Can Counsel Stressed Students & Teachers!

by PRC Agency PR

These are troubled times - and our schools can often resemble spiritual battlegrounds.

If you're feeling the call to serve but are not sure how you can best make a difference in your community, consider training as an NSCA-certified school chaplain!

The online training program offers certification and gives you the skills necessary to work full-time, while offering a source of emotional, psychological, and spiritual support for stressed-out students and teachers.

The certification course from the National School Chaplain Association (NSCA) includes training for how to support stressed students and school staff members, as well as several essential safety modules, including Active Shooter, Threat Assessment, and Stop the Bleed.

A recent study published in the Journal of College and Character shows that having a full-time chaplain on school premises can help students feel supported and can assist them as they deal with existential questions, as well as matters relating to daily student life. The NSCA training course shows you how to really make a positive difference within your community's educational environment. “School chaplain duties include but are not limited to prayer, counsel, and spiritual care for the school staff, the students, and their families,” explains a spokesperson from the organization. “In addition, chaplains provide guidance and help build resilient young people.”

According to the NSCA, you can support schools in four key ways as a chaplain: making schools safer, exploring and honoring student identities, creating and cultivating community, and illuminating and igniting a sense of purpose.

The training program is designed to help you meet the needs of students with diverse religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical backgrounds, using an approach based in tolerance and a non-judgmental framework.

With open enrollment, you can start the online program at any time and can go at your own pace. It can be completed in as little as 8 weeks, if you're willing to work steadily! The NSCA school chaplain certification course is also accredited through Oral Roberts University and includes guidance from NSCA program advisors and a Senior Chaplain Board, even after you finish the course and start working in a school.

The online application process includes confirmation of your education level and ministry experience. Once background checks, training, and safety courses are complete, you'll be fully certified as a school chaplain and eligible for full-time pay and benefits.

You can start being part of the solution in schools today - become a certified NSCA chaplain!
