by Mohit J. White Hat Link Building Services
As more people look for ways to get fit and find some time to look after themselves in a safe and fun way, more are exploring running. It is a great form of exercise, a great way to stay fit and healthy, and the nice thing is that it can be something you do by yourself, or it is something you can turn into a social activity.

It helps reduce your stress level, strengthen your body, and as well as a means to lose weight it boosts happiness and confidence too. To become a successful runner it does help to have some expert help, especially if you plan to race one day. That could be from a virtual running club or an online running coach. Here are some tips on how to go about it.

Decide on goals you can achieve

When you are starting it helps to get some short term and achievable goals written down. Achieving small victories helps and then you can build up to long term ones.

Get the right gear

Having the right gear makes a lot of difference in your comfort levels and your chance of injuries but it does not mean you have to put in more money than you can afford. Prioritise a good pair of running shoes. Just go to a good sports store and talk to someone who knows what to recommend and how to look at your gait. Change your shoes every 300 to 500 miles. With clothing, it is best to avoid cotton as that gets heavy with sweat and can chafe. Synthetic materials will be better and women need a good sports bra.

Have a pre-run snack and hydrate

Make sure you have a snack before you head out and that you hydrate too. Hydration is something you should also do during and after especially if running when it is hot. If you look for good online running coaching they can give you tips on good snacks and such.

Remember to stretch before and after

It is important to get your muscles ready for the run by doing some stretches and a brisk walk or such. You should also cool down the same way after your run. This better prevents injuries.

Your starting pace should be slow

Start off slowly so your body has a chance to adapt and then slowly increase things to increase your stamina and fitness. Something like a 10 percent increase each week is a good thing to aim for.

Choose where you are running

You can run on a treadmill, you can run outside, you might choose to run along roads or go and use local school tracks even. Flatter surfaces are easier to start with.

Track as you get stronger

Start tracking with the help of your online running coach once you are stronger and ready for some more serious focus on your progress. This is a great way to stay motivated too.

Have a rest day

It is really important to have a rest day, and when you are starting you might need more of them! Avoid pushing too hard when you have any injuries.

Reward yourself

Make sure you reward yourself for your hard work. Get a fun t-shirt, treat yourself to an upgrade in shoes, go to a favourite restaurant and so on.

Think about joining a race

If you are thinking about trying out a race or two, you might also want to find some online running coaching, they can help you with a training plan and other great tips to help motivate you.
