GATE 2021 Process

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay is going to conduct the GATE 2021 exam on February 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. The authorities shall release GATE admit cards 2021 on January 8 on the official website gate.iitb.ac.in. Candidates will know the exact GATE exam date, time, exam centre name and address in their hall tickets. Although candidates were given the chance to select international cities for appearing in the exam, GATE exam centres outside India may be cancelled subject to the COVID-19 situation at such times.

GATE 2021 is going to be conducted for 27 subjects with Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Science (XH) being the newly introduced ones. Also, major changes have been introduced in GATE eligibility criteria as well allowing the third year graduating candidates to appear in the exam.  

IIT Bombay had previously released GATE mock test for candidates who registered for the exam. It will give them an idea of what kind of questions can be expected in the entrance exam. The exam duration for GATE 2021 mock test is also 3 hours and there are multiple choice questions in the same. 

The authorities are yet to announce the post exam schedule for GATE 2021. After the exam is conducted, the authorities shall first release GATE provisional answer key for which, a certain period will be given for raising objections. After that, GATE result 2021 will be announced on March 22 on the official website. The authorities will conduct online counselling for GATE 2021 qualified candidates.
