GATE 2015 Application Form

GATE 2015 Application Form will be available from 1^st September 2014 for the candidates aspiring to pursue Postgraduate Engineering programs such as M.E., M.Tech etc. from the top engineering and technology institutes in the country.   The application form will be available on the official website of GATE 2015 or respective Zonal GATE websites of Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee). The last date of filling the application form is 1st October 2014. The application form of GATE 2015 will only be available online.

The Application form is available through (GOAPS) abbreviated as GATE Online Application Processing System which is accessible from the website of the respective Zonal GATE websites of IISc and any of the seven IITs or from the website of the GATE 2015 Organizing Institute - IIT Kanpur.

GATE 2015 Application fee -  

To submit the application form successfully, all the candidates will have to make payment of application fees as applicable. The mode of payment of fee applicable is 

Net banking, debit/credit card, e-challan, etc. The fee is non-refundable.

Category and Amount of Fee applicable

  Male Candidates (General/OBC)     -      Rs.1500

 Women Candidates of any category   -  Rs.750

 Other Candidates (General/OBC)     -    Rs.1500

 SC / ST / PWD Category Candidates  -   Rs.750

Guidelines for Registration - GATE 2015 Application Form

•       For registration, browse through the official website of GATE 2015 or respective Zonal GATE websites of IISc and any of the seven IITs
•     Register using your valid email address, mobile number and GOAPS password which you must chose carefully so that it cannot be guessed easily by anyone. The GOAPS password will be required by the candidates for enrollment
•  On successful registration, candidates will be sent an email containing GOAPS Enrollment ID. Candidates must remember this Enrollment ID as well as the GOAPS password for website operations in future

Details Required for GATE 2015 Application Form

After online registration, candidates will proceed to fill the online application form where they will have to provide the following details:

i.           Personal information  including name, date of birth,  mobile number, parent’s

        Name, parent’s mobile number, etc.

ii.          Address for Communication (including PIN code)

iii.       Eligibility degree details (College address and its PIN code)

iv.       GATE paper, choice of GATE examination cities,

v.         High quality image of your photograph (Find details below)

vi.       Good quality image of your signature (Find details below)

vii.     Details regarding a valid ID Proof that you will carry to the exam hall

viii.   Application Fee payment details

Payment of Application fee –

After giving all the details as required in the application form, you will proceed to online payment of application fee for which you will have to select the details for payment option:

• Firstly, You will have to select the mode of payment chosen by you -   Net Banking/SBI I-collect/ Axis Bank I-Connect/ e-challan
• For payment via Net Banking,  Log in using your Net Banking/SBI/Axis Bank “User Name” and “Password and make the payment of application fee as applicable. In case of payment through debit card/credit card enter your debit card/credit card number, CVV number and password

•   On successful payment a “Fee Payment Number” will be generated which you must  save and remember and as it will be required  in the later stage

Note: After successful payment of application fee, candidates will be directed back to GATE Online Application where you will have to upload the scanned image of Photograph and Signature.

Photograph and Signature Upload

Before submitting the GATE 2015 Online Application Form, the Candidates will have to upload their photograph and signature as per the required specifications.  Candidates failing to upload the Photograph and Signature as required will risk the successful submission of the their application form as applications received without proper requirements as specified will be rejected  and such candidates will be refunded any fee . GATE  Application Form 2015 – Photograph Specifications

•   Photograph to be uploaded must be in color and must have been taken in a professional studio
•   The Photograph background must be white or very light
•   Photograph must not have been taken before 1^st July 2014.
•   Face should occupy about 50% of the area, and with a full-face view looking into the camera directly
•   It is recommended to remove spectacles while photo shoot to avoid glare on glasses or can be avoided with a  slight downward tilt of the glasses
•   Image must be in JPG format and on a standard 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm print
•   Recommended Maximum pixel resolution for JPEG: 640 × 480 (0.3 Mega pixel) and Minimum pixel resolution for JPEG: 320 × 240

GATE  Application Form – Signature Specifications

•   Draw a rectangular box of size 2.5 cm×6 cm on an A4 white paper and sign with black or dark blue ink pen within the rectangular box.
•   Get the signature scanned digitally by a professional using a scanner, and crop the image to the box.
•   JPEG image formats for signature upload is acceptable only
•   The maximum pixel resolution for the scanned signature image is 800 × 300 and the minimum pixel resolution is 400 × 150
•   Image of the signature uploaded if found to be clicked using mobile phone will be rejected and the application form will also be rejected without any refund of the fee.
