The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a premium device from the house of Samsung Electronics, now also one of the largest smartphone makers in the world. The phone has wowed buyers with its amazing looks, features and functionalities.

The cost of this smartphone is in the range of Rs 23,000 – 30,000 across online stores. Cautious buyers are skeptical about the cost of the phone and are curious to know whether the pricing is justified? If you are curious too, read on to know.

Display

It has a big display that measures 5.1 inches and has a high resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. This makes it bigger than other phones like the HTC One M8 and the Apple iPhone 6 which are available with 5-inch and 4.7-inch display. The pixel density of the S5 is 432ppi, which is higher than that of the Apple iPhone 6 with only 326 ppi.

Camera

The standout features of the S5 are undoubtedly its high-resolution camera of 16 MP. While the rear camera is a 16 MP affair, the front one is a 2 MP camera which can shoot 1080 p HD videos. Even the iPhone 6 falls short with its 8 MP rear camera and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera.

Features

     ·   One of the major highlights of the Samsung S5 is the fact that it is a waterproof device. Although it has been designed to be waterproof only up to a distance of 1 m under water, this is still better than most other smartphones and even the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, Nokia Lumia 930 and HTC One M8 which have not been designed to withstand water.

     ·  The screen of the S5 also comes with Gorilla Glass protection, which can safeguard it against scratches and abrasions in case of rough usage or accidents. This is not something that you can expect with the HTC One M8, Lumia 930 or the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

      ·  It is also powered by a strong 2800 mAh battery, unlike the HTC One M8 or the Nokia Lumia 930 which are equipped with 2600 mAh and 2300 mAh batteries respectively.

Despite the presence of such powerful features, the S5 comes only with a price tag of £500 or AU$850, which makes it cheaper than what its rivals are being offered at.

Naturally, the price tag seems to be justified and most buyers looking for a powerful smartphone will not probably mind paying the price, considering the rich features that it is being offered with.
