by Kevin Smith Author

Are you planning a trip to Georgia? Do you live in Georgia and are looking for a weekend getaway? Lucky for you, there's plenty of awesome ways to spend your time in this stunningly beautiful state. Whether you're looking to enjoy the beautiful weather or you'd rather opt for some indoor fun, countless local attractions will leave you wishing you had more time.

The following list is family- friendly as well as adult-oriented, ensuring that there are fun options for everyone traveling with you. Without further ado, here's some tried and tested fun things to do in Georgia.

Visit a Public Garden

Georgia has some of the most beautiful public gardens in the country. Not only will you be able to wander through a sea of stunning azaleas and other vibrantly colored flowers, you'll also get to interact with nature in a way that you never expected. Public gardens are frequented by stunning birds of prey and different woodland creatures.

What better way to pause time for a little while than taking a relaxing stroll through a well- kept a public garden. Be with nature at your own pace and feel your stress slowly drift away from you. Additionally, if you love what you see, you can inquire whether the garden offers on-site housing so you can spend your whole vacation with nature.

Visit the Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium, located in Atlanta, is a sight to be seen. This is an especially popular choice if you're traveling with children or teens, as the aquarium has the benefit of being both educational and entertaining.

This is no run- of- the- mill fish tank, either. The Georgia aquarium is huge, and houses more than a hundred thousand animals belonging to thousands of species. Altogether the tanks contain about 10 million gallons of fresh and salt water. This is no doubt a fabulous way to kill an afternoon.

Visit a Theme Park

No matter what age group you're traveling with, you're going to want to check out some of Georgia's theme parks such as Six Flags Georgia and Wild Adventures. Theme parks are a fantastic option for those who want to enjoy roller coasters, water slides, and safaris.

In addition to rides, there's also often live music from popular bands in the evenings at these venues. These events coupled with delicious food stands are perfect for teens and adults to enjoy.

Got some ideas? Good. Don't worry, you won't be at a loss for things to do when you cross state lines. As long as you're willing, there's plenty of inexpensive and fun things to do in Georgia
