When it comes to going on trips with the family, planning a vacation becomes a little tricky if children are involved. It can be a cumbersome task to look for activities which are interesting for the adults in the family and child friendly at the same time. Delhi, being the metropolitan capital of India, is the perfect destination for a family vacation. And to top that, the city has numerous avenues for your kids to have fun while you enjoy your vacation. From huge, green parks to kids zone in Delhi, here are some activities that your children are sure to enjoy while going around the capital.

1. Picnic with The Elephants: The Garden of Five Senses is immensely popular with locals and visitors alike as a place to hang out. The place gives everyone who visits an opportunity to be close to nature. There are a number of sculptures in the park, some of them of magnificent elephants. It is a delightful experience for children to have a picnic in the garden, amongst the greenery and sculptures.

2. India Gate: A symbol of unadulterated patriotism, Indian Gate stands tall as one of the favorite destinations to visit while in Delhi, for adults and children alike. The best time to visit the monument is in the evening, when the street leading up to India Gate is filled with stalls selling various delicacies on either side, balloon sellers hollering at the visitors to buy the colorful delights and vendors selling little toys which attract all the children. The atmosphere is quite lovely on most days and one can spend a relaxed evening with their families in the gardens there.

3. Humayun’s Tomb: There is no better way of introducing history to your child than by taking them for a visit to a historical monument. Humayun’s Tomb is a historical monument with one of the most tranquil atmospheres. You can teach your kids a thing or two about history as they frolic around the grounds of the sprawling monument.

4. Nehru Planetarium: As kids, the adults of today had the luxury of looking up at a sky full of stars at night, an opportunity which kids these days don’t get. Nehru Planetarium is the best place to take your kids for a truly enriching and educational experience. The kids will thoroughly enjoy this introduction to the marvels of outer space.

Planning a day in Delhi for the kids is a relatively easy task given the number of avenues that are present in the city. After a long day of visiting different places in Delhi, you can take your children to kids clothing store, Saket being the best area for shopping, to buy them the latest and trendiest clothes.
